Review and development of HR strategy for a leading Global Telecommunications Company


A FTSE 100 global telecommunications business needed to review its current people strategy to ensure that it was investing effort and resources into the activities that would make the biggest difference to achieving the Group strategy.


It recognised that effort was being duplicated, HR employees were unclear about priorities and the business did not always see the value of HR activities.  



Review and recommendations for change to ensure that the new people strategy was clear, specific and measurable, and that HR functions in each business had clear priorities and knew how they were contributing the organisation's strategic aims.

Attracting, retaining and motivating technical talent for a Central Government department


A central government department recognised that its technology and research departments needed greater focus on the activities that would attract, develop, motivate and retain technical people.



Development and implementation of a new people strategy and supported the HR team to implement and embed it.  This included:


  • Reviewing and making recommendations to improve organisational performance management
  • Developing HR capability through designing and delivering a HR Development Programme
  • Supporting the introduction of talent management and workforce planning
  • Reviewing recruitment and selection processes to identify opportunities for greater efficiency
  • Partnering with the HR Director to redesign the HR function to improve service levels and support for the business
